According to buzzbishop from Futureshop blog, Facebook is starting to be like My Space back in the early days. I would tend to agree with him as I’ve received a few emails that were supposedly from Facebook but if you looked a little closer you would notice that it’s some sort of phishing website trying to gain personal information from the user. Be aware when clicking on unknown links.

As I’ve been in the IT industry now for over 15 years, I’ve seen quite a few phishing scams in my time. Most famous is an email from your bank (not really) asking you to visit their site to verify and update  private information. And unfortunately quite a few people fell for this and are still falling for this scam. We need to be more diligent and not make curiosity get the best of us.

So my advice to the Facebook developers out there is to keep a close eye on their source codes. To all potential victims, please be especially careful when opening unknown emails.
